Formed in September 1996 after the demise of Suicide Bride. Violet Ultra are a 4 piece band from Boston, Lincolnshire, U.K. Their debut CD "Disturbing Joy" was recorded for Holier Than Thou Records in September 1996 at The Outhouse Studios in Reading and was released in April 1997.

Since releasing the Album, the band have played with Whatever, U.K. Subs, Snuff, The Vibrators, Goober Patrol, King Prawn, Dog Toffee and most recently The Jellys. The band have gigged afar afield as Inverness(Scotland) to Yeovil(England) & Cardiff(Wales).

Signed to Copro Rcds last year the band have since recorded "Psychobabble"; a 13 track album produced and engineered by Dave Chang (Earthtone9, Orange Goblin). The material being a lot darker but still as catchy as FUCK, the band have been described as a lying somewhere in between Therapy? & Offspring.

The band are still going but unfortunately have not been up to much outside of their base town of Boston, Lincs, since being droppend by Copro in 2000.
