Thirteen Seven are a rock trio based in Edinburgh, Scotland. On the Inside is their debut EP. After a first listen to this record it is clear that the title track is outstanding. On their website the band cites many influences but the one that comes up most and is most apparent in the music is Alice in Chains. It is especially borne out in the title track. The song is so strong that you are left thinking how will the rest of the EP live up to it? The answer is: pretty good.
There are many influences at work here and most are American. This band is playing in the long tradition of Scottish bands and artists who sound like and are influenced by American rock and pop music, a tradition begun in the early to mid 80s with the likes of Simple Minds and Sheena Easton. These bands and artists went on to have success in the States and it would be no surprise if it happens for Thirteen Seven as well. However, there is also the influence of British bands such as Radiohead and Muse and, the band may be surprised to hear, the vocalist sounds like Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, another powerful voice from the 80s.One of the best things about this band is its attitude. They talk and sound like a band who have already made it and this is important if you want to get noticed. The band exudes confidence and ability. But are they as good live as they are in the studio? How do they fill out the space live? Hopefully, the author will get a chance to decide but, for now, if the band tries to top the success of this EP, especially its opening track, and if they keep listening to good music then they should go places. JOANovARC sign to Holier Than Thou Records

We are proud to announce that UK rock band JOANovARC have signed to Holier Than Thou Records. We will be releasing new music and digitally re-mastered back catalogue this year. JOANovARK were the first all female band to feature on the world famous multi-platform hit game Rock Band 3.

The girls hail from London and the Home Counties and have built up their strong musicianship and strong representation of women in rock through performances worldwide. JOANovARC have combined influences from Motorhead, Metallica, Joan Jett, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, the Foo fighters and Kings of Leon to create their own unique sound.

JOANovARC have performed worldwide – in the USA, Mediterranean, the Caribbean and have extensively toured Europe. They have performed at the Harley Davidson European Biker Festival in Austria; the Harley Chopper Show in Slovakia; Germany Army bases and have electrified audiences in the UK with venues including the London Astoria; Cafe de Paris; the Garage; Barfly and the O2 Indigo. The girls have played at festivals including Rhythms of the World, Namfest, Fordham Festival, Brighton Pride, Go Go Festival, Cambridge Rock, BMF Biker Festival Peterbough arena and many more. They have also supported Girl School, Top loader, Marillion and Bad Company’s Dave Colwell.

In 2011 the band promoted their first Rock Band release with their track ‘Sisters’ followed by a successful launch at Club 85 and the BBC West Once Club in London. After the launch and the release of the promo video online JOANovARC gained a lot of media coverage and a new worldwide fan base! Throughout 2011 the girls shot their debut music video ‘Peace of Mind’ with Rachel Price of BBC Bristol with thousands of hits on YouTube! They also released their debut EP ‘Beneath the Sky’ on iTunes which was promoted on radio and TV stations across the world – and gained a publishing deal with Speegra Music in the UK and Veal Steen in the USA!

In 2012 the girls played their American Tour showcasing on the Main Stage at Florida Music Festival. Michael Waggoner, Managing Director of Gibson Guitars USA watched the girls’ performance and was blown away – So much so that the girls returned to the UK with worldwide artist support from Gibson! Throughout 2012 JOANovARC performed at many festivals in the UK and Europe (including the Harley Davidson Chopper Show in Austria), had various photo shoots in London, vocal sessions with the legendary Stevie Van Lange and recorded their full – live in the studio – album with Stephen Loveday from Medicine Hat. JOANovARC also promoted their 2nd release for Rock band 3 on the Xbox 360 with their Japanese track ‘Say Sayonara’ with a launch gig at the legendary 100 Club in London.

JOANovARC have a lot in store for 2013 and recently recorded their live in the studio album! Their demo was reviewed in the February issue of Kerrang Magazine by Rock God Andrew WK! The girls are already booked for BMF Biker Gigs over the UK and will be touring in the Netherlands and the middle east throughout 2013.

DJ 8bitrage has produced “On The Inside” by Thirteenseven. The drum & bass mix is due for release May 27th.

Thirteenseven’s latest the EP “On The Inside” was produced by Lord Hagos, who’s worked with Senser – UK number 4 chart album ‘Stacked Up’. The Tripdown Project “Bodyhammer”

Founder members of Sheffield based Colorpool, Ritchie Chappell and Jojo Blythe, formed The TripDown Project in 2009 after Colorpool disbanded. The band were originally formed as a song writing project but playing live was always a big draw. After a chance comment by a friend the TripDown Project decided to start playing live as a 2 piece and put on a few shows.

The shows were really well received, and were always were pretty wild affairs. With the addition of synths and samples the live sound has grown and the band seem to have more energy than ever!. Bringing technology into the live setup has really helped the TripDown Project create a bigger, more powerful sound. Just discovered these guys and have to say the opening track is killer and makes me want to jump around and into things!!! Second track Shimmer has a great chorus and bounces along very nicely and the final track bleeding is a fantastic musical ride with lots of different sections – all great guitar driven rock! Twelve Gauge are J M Ward (Vocals), Ian ‘Jonno’ Johnson (Guitar), Ryan Van Delyce (Guitar), Andy Waite (Bass Guitar) and Graham ‘G’ Bennett. The band formed in the summer of 2012 in the north west of England. They play hard rock drawing their inspiration from Pearl Jam Aerosmith, Alterbridge and Soungarden. Their sound is heavy, melodic and infectious, 12 Gauge recorded their first 3 track EP back in September 2012. Produced and engineered by Mike Pilat at ‘The Vaults in Warrington.

Still a very new band with allot to offer, their first single “Lose Control” raised awareness through rock regional and student radio. Also recently supported Orange Goblin at the Liverpool Academy on the 12th of February. THIRTEEN-SEVEN have teamed up with Lord Hagos at Feral Mobile Recordings to record their first full EP “On The Inside”. Hagos was the producer behind Senser who had a UK number 4 chart album ‘Stacked Up’. He has also played bass for Ozric Tentacles & Lode Star, and has worked as front of house sound engineer for Ash, Black Label Society, Kate Nash, Marianne Faithful and many others…Needless to say we are very excited by this release and which will be available to download from January 15th.

12 Gauge have secured a support slot with Orange Goblin at the Liverpool Academy on the 12th of February, the band also headlining there on march 22nd. The band formed in the summer of 2012 in the north west of England. They play Hard Rock, and they play it well, with Hooks, Melodies, Catchy Choruses. They get their inspiration from the great Rock bands of the past whilst still listening and learning from their contemporaries.
